One man is dead after an early morning shooting in Downtown Youngstown.

It happened at about 1:40 a.m. on Federal Street near Hazel Street.

According to police, officers heard gunfire and saw a large crowd of people fleeing the area. They then saw a man laying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say the 32-year-old man was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have yet to release the name of the victim.

Several departments were called in to assist YPD, including Struthers, Campbell, Boardman, and Liberty Police.

It's not clear what led up to the shooting. Police tell us they do not have a suspect in custody at this time.
