BOARDMAN, Ohio - Boardman Glenwood Junior High School was the winner of the $15,000 Grand Prize in the Terracycle 2022 Brita and Meijer Recycled Garden Contest over the summer.

Now, the school will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony and unveiling of the winning garden at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21 in the outdoor courtyard inside the center of the school.

"The tables and benches have absolutely improved out outdoor classroom in the courtyard. They are a perfect touch. We have also used some of the gift cards to create a rain garden for our new outdoor classroom," said Boardman Glenwood Science Teacher Scott Lenhart.

Lenhart went on to say this space has been a goal of the school ever since the COVID-19 pandemic hit. 

Speakers from Terracycle, Brita and Meijer as well as student speakers impacted by hands-on science programs at the school.
