COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Supreme Court announced on Wednesday that it has suspended the law license of a Boardman attorney who pleaded guilty to fraudulently collecting hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical insurance claims.

Anthony Fusco, 33, who pleaded guilty earlier to insurance in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, is scheduled to be sentenced on Wednesday.

Fusco was indicted in January for telecommunications and insurance fraud.

As part of the plea agreement, the telecommunications fraud count was dismissed.

Prosecutors say Fusco filed approximately $800,000 in false medical claims to insurance companies during a two-and-a-half-year period beginning in March 2017.

The Justices also referred the matter to disciplinary counsel for investigation and the commencement of disciplinary proceedings.
