Warren man jailed: Accused of throwing boiling water on man in wheelchair

WARREN, Ohio - A Warren man is accused of throwing boiling water on a Youngstown man in a wheelchair, as well as threatening to shoot him.
According to a police report, the suspect, who police say was an acquaintance of the victim walked up to him in a parking lot on West Market Street with a cup of boiling water.
Police say the suspect said, "[Victim's name], you're going to take this, or I'm going to shoot you," before throwing the boiling water at the victim's face and fleeing the scene in his vehicle.
Police observed minor burns on the victim's face, but are unsure whether these burns are temperature or chemical-based.
The victim was taken to Saint Joseph's Hospital.
Court records identify the suspect as Darrell Eugene Sims, 52, of Central Parkway, who's been charged with felonious assault.
Sims, who also faces two counts of burglary from other incidents, was booked into the Trumbull County Jail on Friday where he awaits a court appearance.
