WARREN, Ohio -  A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Howland man convicted of raping a woman.

According to Trumbull County Court records, the warrant was issued after 19-year-old Larry Dirando failed to show up for a sentencing hearing last week.

Dirando pleaded guilty in August to two counts of rape and was scheduled for sentencing before Judge Wyatt McKay last Wednesday.

Dirando of Shady Lane was originally arrested in June of last year and held on a $1 million bond for a rape that took place the month before in Weathersfield Township.

After Dirando’s indictment, his bond was reduced to $50,000.

In addition to issuing an arrest warrant on Monday, the judge granted the prosecutor’s office's request that Dirando’s bond be revoked.
