EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio -  An otherwise non-descript building wall in East Liverpool has become a destination for kids of all ages this Halloween season.

Artist Craig Wetzel has completed a mural depicting images of monsters created by local children.

It was back in June that Wetzel asked kids to submit drawings of their favorite monsters for possible inclusion in the mural.

Craig sorted through the drawings, eliminating anything too disgusting or violent.

Also not considered were dinosaurs, trademarked creatures, and lawyers.

Children in grades K-3 were allowed to submit one monster each and were told to place their signature on the artwork, which is included in the mural.

East Liverpool Mayor Greg Bricker says the city will cut a ceremonial ribbon to officially open the Monster Mural on Thursday, October 6, at 2 p.m.

You can view the mural on the side of the Quality Stamp Company building at 432 Walnut Street.

The mural was made possible by grants from the Columbiana County Land Reutilization Corporation and Heritage Thermal Services.
