LISBON, Ohio - Two local school districts are kicking off the season of giving early.

David Anderson High School in Lisbon and United High School are hosting their annual "Clash of the Cans" contest Friday night during their Friday night football game.

Each school's student council is challenging their student body to donate more canned food than the opposing district for a "Clash of the Cans" traveling trophy.

The district that collects the most canned goods will be crowned "Clash of the Cans" champion during the football game.

The trophy has resided at Lisbon's David Anderson High School since 2019. The food generated from the friendly competition will be donated to Lisbon's school
Food Pantry and Community Action Agency.

United's donated food items will help supply the school's Community Outreach program and Backpack program.
