Trumbull Co. Commissioner candidates talk plans for office

Our 21 News 2022 election coverage continues with a look at the Trumbull County Commissioner's race.
There's been a lot of fireworks lately during Trumbull County Commissioner meetings.
Republican candidate, Denny Malloy and Democrat candidate, Mike O'Brien say would help restore order and professionalism to that office. One of them will replace Frank Fuda who will be leaving office in 2023.
O'Brien held that office in the past.
"As a city councilman, a county commissioner, as a mayor, as a state representative, to find common ground, this is what I do is get people to work together," said O'Brien.
Candidate Denny Malloy says the valley needs a change.
"If we keep electing the same people we get what we deserve. This valley has been hurting for so many years they become complacent with losing. It's time for that to end. It's time for new fresh leadership. Out with the old in with the new," said Malloy.
O'Brien says as commissioner he would promote the development of the former WCI property and try to attract businesses there.
"That piece of prime property is ripe for development similar to 'voltage valley' in Lordstown. We'll be able to make that the next economic development project for Trumbull county," said O'Brien.
Malloy says he also plans to attract new business while also giving rural areas of the county a voice.
"The townships always get the crumbs left over at the end of the day. We've always had commissioners from Warren and Niles. There's 25 beautiful townships in the county. They need at least a seat at the table," said Malloy.
