Warren man accused of body checking EMT multiple times in back of ambulance

WARREN, Ohio - A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Warren man after he is accused of body checking an EMT in the back of an ambulance early Saturday morning.
Police responded to a call shortly after 4:00 a.m. on October 15 from a male, later identified as 48-year-old Jonah Cole claiming to be chased by a man with a gun on South Street.
Upon arrival, police spoke with Cole, but say there was no gunman in sight. Police say Cole appeared to be impaired and he didn't appear to be in the right state of mind at the time.
Cole told police that he wanted to go to the hospital and an ambulance was called for him.
When the ambulance arrived, police say as they were about to leave the scene, they heard screaming coming from the ambulance and observed Cole in the two front seats. Cole was promptly placed in handcuffs.
Police later talked with a female EMT who told them that Cole attempted to leave the ambulance, but she was blocking the back doors. The EMT told police Cole body checked her into the doors three to four times causing pain to her hips and lower back.
