YOUNGSTOWN - A Youngstown woman is scheduled for sentencing early next year after pleading guilty to animal cruelty.
Rayne Lynn Dunmire, 24, entered the plea on Wednesday in the courtroom of Mahoning County Common Pleas Judge Scott Krichbaum who scheduled a January 4th sentencing date. A charge of abandoning animals was dismissed.
In late July, Dunmire was charged after a dead dog was found inside a home in the 200 block of E. Boston Avenue on Youngstown's south side.
Animal Charity agents said the dog and a reptile were left unattended while their Dunmire was out of state for several weeks. The reptile was still alive.
The maximum penalty for animal cruelty in Ohio is one year in prison and a $2,500 fine.
