Police in Columbus are reaching out to the public in hopes of finding out who fatally shot a Girard man in their city this past weekend.

Detectives have published photos of 12 people described as persons of interest in the shooting death of 21-year-old Kevin Sobnosky.

According to police, Sobnosky was with some other men when the car they were in was struck by gunfire that came from a parking lot along North Cassady Avenue before 4 a.m. Sunday.

The wounded Sobnosky was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.

St. Rose Church of Girard is planning a prayer vigil to honor the life of Sobnosky, who was a member of the parish and attended St. Rose Elementary School.

 The prayer vigil will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 3.
