$93K in state funding to be used to improve parks in Mahoning Valley

Mahoning Valley - Three communities in the Mahoning Valley will receive NatureWorks grants from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).
The grants will be used for outdoor recreation projects at three community parks.
Canfield will receive nearly $30,000 to install a bike playground and skills course for all ages at Fair Park.
In Columbiana County, more than $36,000 will be used to replace deteriorated playground equipment at Ferguson Park in New Waterford.
The City of Niles will use its $27,142 grant to create ADA-compliant restrooms at Waddell Park.
ODNR announced a total of $1.7 million in grants to support 68 outdoor recreation projects throughout the state.
NatureWorks grants provide up to 75% reimbursement assistance to local governments for the acquisition, development and rehabilitation of recreational areas.
