14-year-old boy found with gun in stolen car during Mercer Co. traffic stop, owner found dead at home

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating after a male juvenile allegedly stole a car and killed a man.
According to the release, officers pulled over a 14-year-old boy around 8:15 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 80 eastbound in Findley Township, Mercer County.
During the stop, officers found "numerous indicators of criminal activity" that suggested the teen stole the car. They also observed a handgun in the car at the time.
State police say they tried to contact the owner of the stolen van, a 71-year-old man from Euclid, Ohio but were unable to reach him by phone.
According to the release, police believed the circumstances suggested the teen may have used the gun to kill the man and then stole his vehicle.
Pennsylvania State Police contacted Euclid police during the traffic stop and told them of the circumstances.
Euclid police went to the 71-year-old man's home to check on him and found the man had been shot and killed.
The 14-year-old suspect was taken to a detention facility while Pennsylvania State Police and the Euclid Police Department conduct a joint investigation.
