YSU falls to Missouri State, McLaughlin sets NCAA career rushing yards record

The Youngstown State football team dropped a close one on the road at Missouri State, 25-22.
The loss likely took the Penguins out of FCS playoff contention.
YSU held a 22-17 lead in the fourth quarter, but with 8:30 left to play -- the Bears scored a touchdown to regain the lead and held on for the win.
Jaleel McLaughlin rushed for 227 yards and a touchdown in the loss. He set a school record for the most 200-yard games with his fifth.
McLaughlin also became the NCAA's all-time career rushing yards leader after eclipsing the 8,074 yards mark set by Mount Union's Nate Kmic. McLaughlin currently has 8,082 career rushing yards.
It's the Penguins first loss since Oct. 8 against North Dakota.
YSU returns home for their final game of the regular season against Southern Illinois, Saturday Nov. 19 at 12 p.m.
