Warren Turkey Trot is for Runners and Dogs

WARREN, Ohio - Over 1000 runners laced up their sneakers for the 44th Annual Turkey Trot, hosted by The Warren Kiwanis Club.
Alex Lagaras of Champion, who is also a runner for Youngstown State University’s track team won the 2-miler, finishing in a little over nine minutes.
“I do have an actual race next week so I love coming out to the turkey trot. It's a nice warm-up for the season, said Lagaras.”
Other big winners were the dogs! The Warren Kiwanis and Mathews Key Club hosted a dog parade for the first time at the Turkey Trot. Many dogs dressed up in Thanksgiving-themed costumes.
“A lot of people would come to the race with their dogs, so we thought let's just do something for the dogs,” said Kimberly Garrett with Warren Kiwanis Club.
Garrett said the Dog Parade was such a success, they plan to do it again next year.
The Turkey Trot is also a fundraiser for Second Harvest Food Bank.
