Ohio gun deer hunting season begins Monday
Hunters here in the Mahoning Valley brought in nearly 10,000 deer last year.

Hunters in Ohio are gearing up for the first day of gun deer hunting season.
The season begins Monday and continues all week through December 4th.
Ohio hunters were busy last year, harvesting more than 87,000 deer during gun seasons. Hunters took home more than 70,000 deer during the weeklong season alone and added another 9,392 during the gun weekend.
Over the last three years, hunters have averaged 84,224 during gun seasons.
Hunters here in the Mahoning Valley brought in nearly 10,000 deer last year.

- Mahoning - 2,110
- Trumbull - 3,994
- Three county total - 9,649
Legal weapons during gun season include shotguns, straight-walled cartridge rifles, muzzleloaders, handguns, and archery equipment.
Hunters in this area are permitted to harvest three deer during the season and must have a valid hunting license.
