Warren police are investigating after a man was assaulted with a brick.

According to the report, the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Friday at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Harvard Avenue.

The victim told police he walked outside of his apartment where a man had been waiting for him.

Reports say the man hit the victim in the side with a brick before striking him in the head and face with an unknown object.

EMTs were called to the scene and the man was taken to the hospital.

There's no word yet on a suspect.
