Police helicopter searches Brookfield for man who may be suicidal
People living along the state line near Brookfield may have wondered why a police helicopter was hovering overhead early Friday.
Police from half a dozen departments were looking for a man who they believe may be suicidal.
Authorities were contacted around 5 p.m. Thursday that a man sent a text to a loved one expressing suicidal intentions over a medical condition.
Police searched through the night without finding the man.
A Pennsylvania State Police helicopter joined the search just after 6 a.m. Friday, scanning the area for more than an hour.
Meanwhile, Police from Brookfield, Vienna, Hartford, Sharpsville, Sharon and Trumbull County Sheriff's Deputies searched northern Brookfield and southern Hartford Townships, responding to reports from neighbors who saw the man driving a 4-wheeler.
As of 8:30 a.m. the search was continuing.
