Police: Pajama clad trespass suspect threatens cops with fire extinguisher at Eastwood Mall complex

NILES, Ohio - A Warren man accused of leading police on a fifteen-minute-long chase through the Eastwood Mall complex was shot with a Taser after he allegedly threatening officers with a fire extinguisher.
According to a police report, 34-year-old Cleveland Pope III ran when mall security tried to serve trespass papers on him on Friday.
Officers say Pope, who was wearing pajama pants at the time, refused to stop when an officer spotted him near Joann Fabrics.
Police chased him on foot near the Outback restaurant as other officers arrived.
An officer said Pope ran toward Home Depot and into the At Home store with officers following close behind.
The police report states that Pope picked up a fire extinguisher, holding it between himself and the officers.
After refusing to drop the extinguisher, one officer fired his Taser, which missed Pope.
A second Taser shot found its mark, allowing police to place Pope under arrest.
Pope was booked into the county jail on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
