Ohio hunters check nearly 72,000 deer during weeklong gun season
Hunters will have another opportunity to head out when deer gun season opens again from December 17-18.

Ohio - Hunters in Ohio took full advantage of the weeklong gun deer season.
Between November 28 and December 4, hunters checked 71,932 white-tailed deer.
That number is higher than the average over the last three years when hunters harvested an average of 68,534 deer. 2022's total was also slightly higher than last year when Ohioans checked 70,381.
Over deer gun week, hunters checked 26,355 bucks, 36,546 does and 7,983 button bucks.
No Mahoning Valley counties came in the top 10 for deer taken. Coshocton County led the state with 2,457.

- Columbiana - 1,446
- Mahoning - 548
- Trumbull - 1,104
