Former NEOCC guard from Canfield pleads guilty to accepting bribes

YOUNGSTOWN - A former Northeast Ohio Correctional Center (NEOCC) correctional officer has pleaded guilty to charges filed for his role in a scheme to smuggle contraband into the prison in return for bribery payments.
Last month, Terry Terrigno, 30, of Canfield, was charged with providing narcotics, marijuana, and tobacco to inmates and accepting bribes.
According to court documents, from February 13 2017 to July 4, 2019, Terrigno smuggled suboxone, marijuana and tobacco to NEOCC prison inmates in return for electronic bribery payments made through a mobile phone application. Terrigno was charged on Count 4 for allegedly providing tobacco to an inmate.
Wednesday's plea was made via video before a Magistrate Judge.
Terrigno, who will be sentenced at a later date, had his bond set at $20,000.
