BOARDMAN TWP., Ohio - A Leetonia man is in jail after allegedly going on a spree of car break-ins in Trumbull and Mahoning counties, then using stolen credit cards at local businesses.

Austin Chace, 30, was arrested in Boardman early Tuesday after police say he and Johnnathen Figueroa were seen allegedly breaking into cars and trucks along South Avenue, leaving the vehicle doors open.

Girard Police say Chace is also suspected of breaking into half a dozen vehicles and stealing a car in their community last week.

LaNite Rider, 21, of Girard, told police she was with Chace early last week when he broke into the cars in Girard.   Rider told officers that she and Chace went to a truck stop in Austintown and the Walmart in Bazetta Township. 

Chace is accused of using a credit card stolen from the cars to purchase items at the businesses. Girard police posted security images of the suspects on the police department's Facebook page.

Boardman police booked Chace into the county jail for theft and a parole violation.

Bazetta police have charged Chace with receiving stolen property and misuse of a credit card.

Girard police filed five counts of theft against Chace, while Rider faces multiple counts of complicity to commit theft.

Figueroa faces drug charges.
