A Mahoning Valley Christmas isn't complete without stopping by what some call the largest home holiday light display in the area.

You can't take your eyes off of it driving past the home across from Rulli Brothers on South Avenue in Boardman.

17-year-old Jacob Latessa is behind this grand display. He started setting up the lights and inflatables in mid-October. The holiday display took him 6 weeks to complete while working day to night.

He collects more decor every year by purchasing items on clearance after the holidays. "At the store, we filled the car to the top and we had to make different trips coming back and forth to the store," Latessa said. "It's amazing how much stuff is new this year."

He also accepts donations to pay for his $800 December electric bill.

Latessa says he's proud to make this his biggest display yet and enjoys welcoming hundreds of cars every night.

"There's a lot more stuff than last year," Latessa told 21 News. "We filled up the whole neighbor's yard and the whole lot across from our house. We did a lot of the backyard as well."

"We actually had an electric company come out this year because we wanted to make sure our house was safe," Latessa said. "The guy said it should be okay as long as we don't add any more."

Latessa said he's grateful for his parent's support and appreciates the kindness of his neighbors.

His family is installing another electrical box next year to keep up with the massive display. This Friday and Saturday, the display will be closed due to the extreme weather but you can catch a glimpse next week before Jacob starts the tear-down process after New Year's Day.

"I want to thank the community for supporting me," Latessa said. "I appreciate seeing how happy this makes people. This time of year is all about seeing people happy and that's why I continue to do this every year."

Latessa decorates his yard for almost every holiday, year round.
