Champion designates safe zones for online transactions
The Champion Police Department announced on Facebook that they will be offering a safe exchange zone for residents making online transactions.

CHAMPION TWP., Ohio - The Champion Police Department announced on Facebook that they would offer a safe exchange zone for residents making online transactions.
The exchange zone is located in the Champion Police Department parking lot, near the flag pole. The area will be monitored through video and audio 24/7.
The area is open to the community for online exchanges, custody exchanges, and more.
Other communities throughout the Valley have designated safe zones for online purchases after two people were shot in Warren after trying to buy merchandise from someone they met online.
Other local Safe Zones include:
- Bazetta Township Administration Building, 3372 State Route 5, Cortland.
- Newton Falls Police department building, 19 North Canal Street, and inside the front door of City Hall, 612 W. Broad Street, during business hours, from 8 am to 4 pm.
- Poland Township Police Department parking lot of the Government Center, 3339 Dobbins Road.
- Boardman Township Government Center, 8299 Market St, Youngstown, OH 44512
The Champion Police Department advises the community not to meet unfamiliar people at their homes.
