Family of Damar Hamlin speaks out about collapse

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin's family has spoken out about the players collapse during the game against the Bengals Monday night.
According to the Buffalo Bills Twitter account, Hamlin spent the night in the intensive care unit and remains in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
In the statement, Hamlin's family thanked first responders and healthcare professionals at the hospital, as well as the support they've been receiving from the Buffalo Bills organization.
"On behalf of our family, we want to express our sincere gratitude for the love and support shown to Damar during this challenging time. We are deeply moved by the prayers, kind words, and donations from fans around the country," the statement read.
The Cincinnati Bengals also released a statement, sending their thoughts and prayers to Hamlin and his family.
"Last night was suppose to be a great night for the NFL and a great showcase for our hometown. Instead, the human side of our sport became paramount...and in that moment, humanity and love rose to the forefront," the statement read.
Head coach of the University of Pittsburgh Pat Narduzzi also tweeted in support of Hamlin. Narduzzi coached Hamlin in college, and graduated from Ursuline High School in the 1980's.
