Woman charged after emaciated dogs found in trash ridden Warren apartment

WARREN, Ohio - Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a woman after finding two dogs abandoned in her former Warren apartment which was scatted with trash.
Audreanna Lewis, 28, has been charged with two counts of animal cruelty.
A crew called by the landlord to clean up a rental property on the 900 block of Garden Street NW Sunday called police when he found two dogs that appeared to be emaciated and had no food or water.
In addition to animal waste, police found clothing, trash, and other items strewn throughout the apartment.
The landlord told police that the tenant left the home more than a week ago. A neighbor said he hadn’t seen anyone at the home for at least two weeks.
The dogs were turned over to the care of Jason Cooke, who runs the Healthy Hearts and Paws Project.
Cooke took the dogs to a veterinarian to be checked out.
Healthy Hearts and Paws is asking for donations to cover the cost of treatment.
