An informant told the FBI that mob boss Lenny Strollo's Super Bowl parties featured casino-style gambling and made $40,000 to $50,000. But, the informant said, Strollo told Little Joey Naples that the parties only produced a profit of $5,000, cutting Naples' take.

1948: Mr. and Mrs. Chauncy A. Cochran of Logan Road are fatally injured in a collision with a truck near East Palestine. Cochran, 73, was chairman of the board of G.M. McKelvey Co. department store.
The 163 Roman Catholic students enrolled at Baldwin Wallace College must withdraw from the Methodist college immediately, the Rev. Joseph T. Moriarity, professor of religion at St. John's College, tells them. He says a compulsory religion course at the college is contrary to Catholic doctrine and attending it is a "grave sin" for Catholic students. A Baldwin Wallace dean says no changes in curriculum are anticipated.
