NORTH LIMA, Ohio - Through a fundraising campaign, Sheely's Furniture and Appliance donated over $14,000 to Angels for Animals.
At the furniture company's Aurora and North Lima locations, they were able to raise $14,270 for the animal shelter, in the company's second largest fundraiser to date.
Sheely's employees and community members voted back in October for Angels for Animals to receive the proceeds of the fundraiser.
Angels for animals plans to use the donation to help pay for and furnish cat rooms at the charity, which is apart of their new Angel Wing that opened in June of 2022.
The cages provided for Angels for Animals are brand new this month, and were built and designed by Cabinets Unlimited from Salem.
"We don't exist without the community," said Angels for Animals co-founder Diane Less.
According to Less, the money donated from Sheely's was given to the charity's general fund, which allows the charity to decide where to use the money. Angels for Animals relies on donations to provide affordable veterinary services and pet care to the community.
"This is an awesome donation, everything that you see at our building is a result of working with the community," said Less.
Sheely's provided matching funds for every donation received, and incentivized customers to donate by giving a $100 discount on certain purchases.
