The former Babylon Gentleman's Club property in Austintown is under new ownership.

The property has been purchased by Canfield Properties LLC, a company owned by Samuel Boak from Boak & Sons Contracting.

Boak tells 21 News he has no plans for the property as of yet, but one of the main reasons for purchasing the Babylon property was to avoid having a strip club in the area.

"I own most of the property there, and I didn't want to have a strip bar there," Boak said.

While Boak doesn't have any plans of his own for the property, he tells us he sees great potential for it to become a restaurant combined with a sports bar.

"It's super big so you could have a restaurant in the front part and a beautiful sports bar in the back," Boak said.

Austintown Trustees will be meeting on Monday, January 23 to discuss multiple things including whether or not this property will still need a liquor license.

If this property turns out to be a restaurant or bar, Babylon's liquor license will be transferred over to the new owners. However, if it turns out to be something that doesn't require a liquor license such as an office building, the liquor license will be revoked.
