BERLIN CENTER, Ohio - Dog and cat shelters and rescue centers are no stranger to volunteers and donations, but this winter, Noah's Lost Ark is reminding folks not to forget about exotic animals like lions, tigers and bears.

Shelter director, Ellen Carnosel tells 21 News this is nothing new for the shelter and that a lot of people forget about them this time of year.

Carnosel cites the popularity of dog and cat shelters, as well as the shelter being in a remote location, only being open to the public certain times of the year and the COVID-19 pandemic closing the shelter to the public for some time as reasons for this.

The shelter is in need of items such as blankets, comforters, sheets, pillowcases, towels, dish soap, bleach, paper towels, wet dog food and much more.

Carnosel tells 21 News folks can bring their donations to the gift shop porch at any time of the day, even after normal business hours. The shelter can be found at 8424 Bedell Road in Berlin Center.
