The Campbell Board of Education will be meeting Tuesday evening to discuss several topics including a grant that could allow the district to improve its heating and cooling systems.

According to Tuesday night's meeting agenda, this would be a collaboration agreement between Campbell City Schools and a group of school district representing disadvantaged communities to apply for the grant.

Specialty Consultant, Sunday Creek Horizons and energy service provider, Veregy will be assisting with the grant and project implmentation.

Campbell City Schools Superintendent, Matthew Bowen tells 21 News if the school is approved for funding from these grants, heating and cooling systems in the elementary, middle and high schools will all be upgraded.

The district hopes to get between $600 thousand and $800 thousand.

"We're always looking for grant opportunities necessary for facility maintenance and improvements. We pride ourselves of being good stewards of taxpayer dollars," Bowen said.
