Retiring Judge honored with portrait
YOUNGSTOWN - The Seventh District Court of Appeals honored Judge Gene Donofrio with a portrait unveiling during a special session Saturday afternoon.
Judge David A. D'Apolito, Judge Cheryl L. Waite and Judge Carol Ann Robb presided over the special session in recognition of their colleague.
Judge Donofrio joined the Seventh District Court of Appeals in February of 1993, and was instrumental in obtaining funding for the courthouse located on West Federal Street in Youngstown.
"It is our privilege to host this special Court of Appeals session in honor of Judge Gene Donofrio whose professional leadership, fair temperament and continued commitment to excellence within the Court leaves a lasting legacy at the Seventh District," stated Judge D'Apolito.
Judge Donofrio is set to retire January 31, 2023.
