Ice carving, family fun scheduled at Eastwood Event Centre in Niles

The second annual Eastwood Ice Fest will feature ice-carving demos, and book reading for kids. The free event will take place at the Eastwood Event Centre at Eastwood Mall in Niles on Sunday February 5 from 11 am to 3 pm.
Students in the Hospitality and Event Management program at Kent State University will be demonstrating their ice-carving skills. The family-friendly activities will also include costume character meet-and-greets and a performance by Youngstown State University’s Dana Chorale.
There will be a complimentary hot cocoa bar and area chefs will compete in a Soup-er Bowl Cookoff. Guests at the event will be able to sample the soups. Donations to the Soup-er Bowl will benefit the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull Country.
The ice carving will take place just outside the entrance to the Eastwood Event Centre. The other activities will take place inside the Event Centre.
