Boardman window contractor faces more theft charges

A Boardman home improvement contractor who was transferred from the Mahoning County jail to the Trumbull County Jail last week, is back in the Mahoning County Jail again.
John Bartos III, 40, is scheduled to appear in Mahoning County Court in Boardman Wednesday afternoon to answer two counts of theft by deception.
The charges come from separate investigations according to Boardman Police.
In one case, a Boardman woman says she paid Bartos’s Gridiron Construction $1,600 last April for a window replacement job that was never finished.
Another alleged victim told investigators he gave Bartos a $2,000 down payment to replace seven windows at his Pearson Circle condominium. That was in late October. The condo owner says he hasn’t heard from Bartos since then.
The condo owner told police that he reported Bartos after reading several news accounts of other unhappy customers earlier this year.
Bartos faces similar charges in Mahoning, Trumbull, and Lawrence Counties.
