Mother gives birth to baby boy in ambulance on her way to hospital in Boardman

A mother from Youngstown gave birth to her baby boy while on route to a local hospital Wednesday evening.
According to Emergency Medical Transport CEO, Ken Joseph, a 911 call came in around 6:30 p.m. from a nine-year-old child that her mother was in labor.
Ambulances arrived on scene shortly after and began transporting the mother to Boardman to deliver the baby. Shortly after transportation began, the mother told paramedics she needed to push.
Joseph tells us the ambulance quickly pulled over to the side of the road and called for additional paramedics to help now that there were two people to care for.
Joseph says the baby came out healthy at six pounds and 14 ounces. Both the mother and the baby are currently healthy and are being cared for in the hospital.
