President Biden to deploy additional federal resources to East Palestine

WASHINGTON, D.C. - President Biden has announced on Friday that his administration will be deploying additional resources to East Palestine in response to the recent train derailment.
According to a press release, in response to Ohio Governor, Mike DeWine's request for additional federal support, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the CDC are sending a team of medical personnel and toxicologists to the village conduct public health testing and assessments.
A team is expected to be on in the village by Saturday, February 18 including a medical toxicologist and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) to support EPA and state health department efforts.
ATSDR will send a team to interview people in the derailment area and conduct an Assessment of Chemical Exposure investigation.
