A juvenile involved in the shooting incident at the Canfield Fair in 2022 has been sentenced in juvenile court Wednesday.

According to Mahoning County Juvenile Court Administrator, Wes Skeels, the juvenile has been sentenced to probation and must attend counseling and complete school.

Originally, the juvenile was scheduled to be sentenced on January 4. However, he was placed back behind bars due to not appearing for mandatory counseling sessions, as well as not following the court's monitoring orders.

The juvenile was involved in a large fight at the Canfield Fairgrounds involving 75 to 100 people. Police chased the juvenile on foot, with him only stopping after officers said they would deploy their tasers on him.

Police say the juvenile tossed a handgun underneath a vehicle upon stopping.
