EAST PALESTINE, Ohio - EPA Administrator Michael Regan is scheduled to be in East Palestine on Tuesday for a third time since the derailment, fire, and toxic chemical spill of February 3.

Regan will take part in the grand opening of Environmental Protection Agency’s new Community Welcome Center in the office space once occupied by Endia Wisser Photography on 25 North Market Street.

The center will be available to members of the East Palestine community and is a space to meet with staff from EPA and other agencies and learn more about services available to support the community, including in-home air-monitoring and cleaning services.

During Tuesday's press briefing, Regan said the CDC, HHS and FEMA will be available at the center to provide answers to questions and concerns regarding health and environmental impacts.

21 News reporter, Leslie Huff asked one EPA employee at the center, on how specifically they will help. So far they have only referred people to the existing clinic and the EPA website for answers.

Residents can walk into the center but signing up for property cleanup may take some time. EPA officials say they hope for the website to be available soon.

The center will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekly.
