YOUNGSTOWN - A Youngstown woman who began serving a six month sentence for animal cruelty in January has been denied early release from jail.
Mahoning County Common Pleas Court Judge Scott Krichbaum entered a judgement denying a motion from the attorney representing Rayne Lynn Dunmire seeking early release.
Prosecutors opposed the motion.
Dunmire, 25, was charged in late July after a dead dog was found inside a home in the 200 block of E. Boston Avenue on Youngstown's south side.
Animal Charity agents said the dog and a reptile were left unattended while Dunmire was out of state for several weeks. The reptile was still alive.
After completing her sentence, Dunmire will be on probation for five years.
