Work is underway on $1.1 million project to expand the Greenway Trail along the northern side of SR-154 in Lisbon.

The trail is being extended to the Ride and Share parking lot, just west of BP and Day's Inn. This extension will take the trail through the village center to Chestnut Street, then east to Moore Street followed by SR-154.

This would be the fourth extension to the trail, with the last prior extension being completed in 2013. The trail draws an estimated 200,000 users each year.

According to a Facebook post from Lisbon Mayor, Peter Wilson, the project has been in the works for years by the Columbiana County Central Park District and is scheduled to be finished by September 30.
