The Mahoning County Engineer is proposing to replace the Walker Mill Road Bridge over Yellow Creek in Boardman.

The project is currently scheduled to begin construction in the Spring of 2025.

During construction, Walker Mill Road at the project site will be closed to traffic for a period not to exceed 180 consecutive calendar days. The official detour route for the closure will utilize South Avenue, Western Reserve Road, and North Lima Rd.

Construction and bridge closure and detour information will be posted along Walker Mill Road, along all intersecting side roads and on the Mahoning County Engineer webpage.

Access shall be maintained to all properties within and adjacent to the project construction limits for the duration of project construction.

While the proposed project will not result in any substantial impacts to environmental resources, Mahoning County Engineer, Patrick T. Ginnetti, is seeking any comments residents may have regarding the proposed project.

Project-related issues the public may wish to comment on include, but are not limited to, the effect of the project on residents, the local economy, floodplain impacts, historic or cultural resources, etc. To ensure your comments are considered during project development, please submit them no later than April 13, 2023.
