SHARON, Pa. - Laurel Technical Institute students and the Sharon community are getting the opportunity to try new foods at a Pop Up Food Hall once a month.

On the last Wednesday of every month, Laurel Technical Institute will host the pop up shop at its Sharon location.

Elephant #8 Thai Restaurant, Julians, Flava and Mike Blaurock will be featured in the next pop up taking place March 22.

Julians started off as a coffee shop, but has since escalated to an American restaurant with diverse food options ranging from croissants to burgers. The company has been in Meadville for over 20 years, but the owners DJ and Kalli York are planning to open another location in Sharon in May 2023.

Michael Blaurock, a Youngstown native, will offer German food at the pop up. He is working with Laurel Technical Institute to establish a traditional German restaurant or food truck business.

Flava serves Mexican entrees and offers catering services. The business is operated by three single moms in Brookfield, Ohio.

Elephant #8 Thai Restaurant is opening up a new location in Sharon in summer 2023. The company will serve stir fried noodles, traditional Thai curry and other specialties.

Tickets are required for guests to try the food at the Pop Up Food Hall. Half tickets cost $5 and equate to a half portion of food at one restaurant. Full tickets cost $10 and equate to a full portion of food at one restaurant. To try multiple locations, guests will need multiple tickets.

The event will last from noon until 6 p.m. on March 22. Laurel Technical Institute can be found at 200 Sterling Ave. in Sharon.
