COLUMBUS, Ohio - It’s not quite the same as having your name up in lights, but Ohio is offering drivers an opportunity to share some of their thoughts with others sharing the highways.

The Ohio Department of Transportation is asking motorists to submit traffic safety related ideas or phrases they’d like to see on those illuminated message boards you see along roadways.

If you have something to say to Ohio drivers that could save a life, submit a safety message by following the below link:

ODOT offered the below sample messages:

CAMP IN OHIO STATE PARKS NOT IN THE LEFT LANE

THAT SEATBELT LOOKS GOOD ON YOU

IT'S NOT A RACE LEAVE SOME SPACE

EXIT TO TEXT IT

Due to the size of the signs, submissions have a character limit. A highway message can’t be longer than 51 characters (17 characters for each of the three lines).

Messages must be traffic safety related. Get bonus points if your submission focuses on one of Ohio's emphasis areas (Serious Crash Types, High Risk Drivers and Behaviors, and Special Vehicles and Roadway Users)

Your submission will be disqualified if it is defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent, harassing, bullying, threatening or unlawful.
