Investigators are looking for the cause of a fire that heavily damaged a home in Columbiana County early Wednesday.

Flames were reported at a single story home on Carroll Road in St. Clair Township at around 4 a.m.

A police officer on the scene reported that fire had spread through the home as firefighters were on their way.

Crews from other departments were also dispatched to help fight the flames which destroyed half of the house, which has been declared a total loss.

Fire officials say no one was injured.
