There are plans for more testing by food and science experts from The Ohio State University on items from the East Palestine area.

The Ohio Department of Agriculture and The Ohio State University are discussing testing options for plant materials and milk and egg products produced in the surrounding area.

Research is underway to determine what food-related testing exists, if any, for the chemical compounds to the train derailment.

ODA says the food supply is safe and the risk to livestock remains low following the train derailment.

The testing would be done out of an abundance of caution.
