Valley businesses celebrate St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day is here and Penguin City Brewery kicked off the days festivities by having John Cox, the grand marshal of the Mahoning Valley Irish Day Parade, tap the brewery's dry Irish red beer.
With bag pipes blaring and special edition Penguin City beer pouring, owner Aspasia Lyras, says there are many things to look forward to inside the brewhouse.
"There's going to be food [and] bands all day. We have fun drink specials. [It is] just an all around good time," Lyras said.
In Howland at Barrel 33, they are serving up St. Patrick's Day favorites like corn beef and cabbage, Reuben sandwiches and Shepard's pie.
Owner, Brian Fry says customers can enjoy their Irish dishes all weekend long.
"We'll be running the kitchen until [10 p.m.] tonight and then reopening tomorrow at noon and run all of the same specials again," Fry said.
Barrel 33 and Penguin City are not the only restaurants providing the Irish experience. You can find green beer at West 34 and The Federal on West Federal Street in downtown Youngstown.
"We have our green beer. We're generally a cocktail place so we do have some green themed cocktails," said West 34 general manager, Will Happney.
The party is shamrock shaking all night in Downtown Youngstown during Shamrock The Block with live music.
