Two women accused of robbing Family Dollar store in Warren

WARREN, Ohio - Two women are accused of robbing a Family Dollar store in Warren Thursday evening.
According to a police report, the incident occurred just before 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Police spoke with store employees who say the two female suspects came in and attempted to steal a shopping cart with merchandise such as clothing and deodorants inside.
The employee told police he tried to stop them, but was assaulted.
Police say the shopping carts have poles on them to deter thieves, as the poles cannot easily be pushed through the front door. However, the two suspects pushed the shopping cart back so it could fit through the doorway.
Once the cart was pushed out of the store, police say another employee grabbed it and would not let go until one of the suspects kicked him in his thigh and threw a slushy at him.
Police say the suspects were able to get away with a few packs of Hanes t-shirts, underwear and leggings. At this time, the exact value of what was stolen is unknown.
No arrests have been made yet, but charges are pending for Robbery and Petty Theft.
