Struthers man charged after neighbor tells wife he wasn't home watching daughter

A Struthers man has pleaded not guilty to a charge of child endangering after his wife told police he went into Youngstown, leaving her four-year-old daughter home alone.
Ronnie Lengyel, 55, was arraigned in Struthers Municipal Court Wednesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
According to a police report, Lengyel’s wife told officers she had to leave work last month after a neighbor sent her pictures of her husband in Youngstown.
The woman said when she came home to find her daughter at home unsupervised, her husband returned soon after.
The wife told police that her husband claimed that he went to the store and was only gone a short time.
The police report says the woman told officers that Lengyel had no answer when she asked him where the items were that he bought from the store.
Lengyel told police that he had never the child alone, claiming his wife was lying.
The report says the child appeared to be okay.
The child endangering charge was filed after police investigated.
A pre-trial in the case is set for late April.
