Resolution calling for Congressional action on Ohio rail safety passes through Ohio House

Local State Representative, Lauren McNally has announced on Thursday that House Resolution 33, urging Congress to approve legislation requiring railroads to inform state and local officials when they run hazardous materials through their jurisdiction passed in the Ohio House of Representatives.
The bipartisan legislation, introduced by Columbiana County-based Representative, Monic Robb Blasdel along with Rep. McNally received unanimous support in the Government Oversight Committee before passing in the House.
McNally says she's encouraged by the efforts being made to improve remediation and prevention laws on rail safety.
"Now, every Congressional member from every corner of our country will know that the Ohio House of Representatives stands with our federal lawmakers as they take on this work on behalf of the people of East Palestine," McNally said.
Following the vote, HR 33 will formally be enrolled by the Clerk of the Ohio House of Representatives and signed by the Speaker of the House.
Duly authenticated copies that match the language in the last paragraph will be sent to members of Congress, along with a letter from the Clerk.
