PennDOT is asking for the public's input on an online plans display for a project to replace the bridge that carries Route 62 over Fox Run in Jackson Township in Mercer County.

This project will include the replacement of the existing concrete structure with a brand-new bridge, as well as updated roadway approaches, drainage and shoulder backups.

The existing bridge was built back in 1922 and was widened in 1961. About 2,400 vehicles use this bridge every day, despite it being rated as in poor condition.

Work is expected to occur during the 2024 construction season and should take about three to four months to complete. The 21.5 mile detour route will use Route 62, I-79 and Route 358.

A handout, a PDF of project plans and a forum to submit questions or comments are all available on PennDOT's website. This page will be up until April 19.
